Pop-up tents are incredibly flexible and perfect for art shows or events. One of the difficulties of them is the lack of points to hang things. I came up with this idea looking to have a simple way to hang up some photos on days where grid walls were either impractical and you don’t want to attach everything to a corner where two diagonals meet.
This is a fairly simple solution, creating a point on the diagonal supports for any lightweight load you’d like to put on it. I use them for hanging photographs and signs in my booth in combination with adjustable aircraft cable hooks available at a number of online stores but these will work with any string or connector that have a simple loop that can go over the post.
Installation is very simple, you simply put the stem over the top of your diagonal support and thread the bottom knob onto the stem. It will tighten directly against the diagonal support to prevent sliding. That’s it! Adjustment is as simple as loosening the bottom knob and sliding the post where you need it. Hang it on your left, step back to take a look, move it to the right, it’s increibly easy.
Made from black PLA plastic from my own design these have been tested to be able to hold a 5 gallon bucket of water, which is around 40 pounds. However, at that kind of load I sincerely believe you will damage your tent so please do not use these to their full capacity.
Measures 2-3/8” tall, 1-1/8” in diameter, with a 3/8” diameter post. Designed for diagonal tent struts measuring 3/8” by 7/8”, not guaranteed to work with all pop-up tents but send me an email, let’s figure out a solution!
